The Ozi Ozaa Djembe features our straight-sided body and tapered base which produces a much purer tone. This clarity makes it the ideal instrument for both recording and performance environments.

All of our Djembes are designed by Master Drummer Yaw Asumadu and are hand carved in Ghana by our Master Drum Maker Jibril Kudjoe Kponyo.

All our Djembes feature a †recessed lower hoop. This step holds the hoop securely which in turn maintains a balanced tuning and prolongs the life of the drum. Together with quality ropes and Goat skins sourced from across Ghana, we take pride in each stage of construction to bring you a Djembe that will last and give you many years of enjoyment.

Ozi Ozaa will set the Djembe to your specific needs. For beginners who need a good bass sound, the Goat skin is not pulled as hard on the drum, allowing the tones to be heard.
Goat skin is the traditional choice for Djembe producing a deep bass, rich tones and the height and edge synonymous with this drum popular all over the world.
More advanced players can opt for our Professional Specification which includes a tougher cow skin head.

We also offer the choice of a plain finish on the base or a choice of decorative carvings.
